Makeup suggestions from Harvard?

We’d take makeup suggestions from the makeup magician of runways and editorials, Pat McGrath, any time. And from the sisters behind YouTube beauty channel Pixiwoo. But from Harvard?

Well, as strong believers in the power of executive style and presence, we were intrigued!

A study looked at how different makeup styles influenced how people perceive your ability to perform at work. And they found that you can use makeup to enhance power and warmth. If you want to highlight that you’re likeable and trustworthy (e.g. as a doctor) opt for a natural look. If you want to enhance your confidence and status (e.g. in a board meeting) choose a stronger style.

Have a look at this article in Marie Claire. It talks a bit more about the study and shows the range of looks on different skin tones.
